A veg patch essential! All Year Round cauliflower is a reliable old favourite that really lives up to its name — producing large, compact, snowy-white heads nearly all year long. It’s hardy, dependable, and perfect for both early and late sowings, holding beautifully through the winter months for fresh picking whenever you need it.
July to October for spring planting, or November to spring for late summer to autumn planting.
• Planting: Space 45–60cm apart in firm, fertile soil in full sun.
• Soil Prep: Work in plenty of well-rotted manure or organic matter before planting to boost growth.
• Firm Ground: Lightly tread the soil before planting — cauliflowers like a solid base.
• Watering: Keep well watered until established and during dry spells.
• Protection: Use netting to guard against the cabbage white butterfly.
• Blanching Bonus: If the curds are exposed, bend a few outer leaves over the top to protect them from sunlight and keep them bright white.
• Succession Success: Sow and plant at intervals for a steady harvest throughout the year.
• Feed for Flavour: Give a high-nitrogen feed once the plants are growing strongly to produce bigger, denser heads.
